Other ways to support QCWA's International ActivitiesEveryone is welcome to contribute to our International Activities with the following types of in kind donations. Stamps Kgsstamps should be sorted before coming to State Office. Trim stamps to max 5mm of paper. If there are several stamps close together, leave as a block. Sort into Australian and International and pack separately.
Foreign Coins KgsMany people return from overseas holidays with loose change, and don’t know what to do with it. Collect up for QCWA! Coins are weighed then taken to a currency exchange annually. They sort the coins into the various countries of origin, and also after a small commission, pay the proceeds to QCWA for Dame Alice Berry fund. And yes, they will accept foreign notes as well. Jewelry kgsAvailable for purchase by QCWA members at the International Study Conference, with some unsold items taken to local markets. All proceeds paid into QCWA Dame Alice Berry Fund. | Primary School Reading BooksThis item is on the current In Kind Donation list. Rotary are happy to distribute these reading books, however they need to be separate to the Kits for Kids packs. We can accumulate at State Office and send by the box once filled. Be mindful that the children receiving these books have English as a second language. They love to read about our native animals, and adventures, however do not send books about family life as theirs is so different to ours. Boxes of Reading/Sunglasses/Hearing Aids to Lions RecycleLions International collect preloved reading and sunglasses, and hearing aids. These are refurbished for use overseas programs. No glasses cases or hearing aid batteries will be accepted. Please note: it's important to ensure the donated glasses are in good working order, without scratched lenses or damage to the frames.
